The sublimated body and the fragile being under the gaze of Tina Merandon

For several years, Tina Merando has been conducting a personal research on the  concepts of the body and the sensation.

The body is at the centre of all her work, subject to unavoidable expression. Through her photographs, she questions the notions of power at the political, social or intimate level.

In 2003, Tina Merandon received the Jeune Création Award for her collection named Syndromes.

In 2016, she realized a residency around the world of boxing with the Departmental Council of Seine-Saint-Denis and Rosny-sous-Bois, culminating in the series «Boxing». Through this collection, she got her cover in 2016 of the Artpress 2 N43, dedicated to boxing and the Noble Art. The body; in motion or still, between violence and fragility, under tension, it stirs up the imagination of ancient statuary. The human finds its place, revealed at times humane, at times bestial.

Tina Merandon’s photographs are regularly presented around the world and are part of several institutional and special collections.

In October 2019, on the occasion of the exhibition « The rumble in the jungle », Tina Merandon presents two photographs from the series Boxing made in 2016 and produced with Arroi.
