Corporate philanthropy in France #Figures

96% of corporate patrons are very small (TPE) and small to medium-sized (PME) businesses.

In October 2018, Admical presents its barometer of corporate patronage in France.

Between 2010 and 2016, the number of corporate patrons increased by 2.5. An ever-increasing rise, amounting to 82K corporate patrons in 2017, for a total of €2 billion in declared donations.

On average, 73,555 businesses reported €23,074 in donations, including 45,400 TPE(very small businesses) in 2016.

The three forms of patronage

  • Financial – 84%
  • Nature – 3%
  • Skills – 13%

The priority domains break down between social (%28), culture and heritage (%25) and education (%23), followed by the environment, the international solidarity, the sport and finally the research. Corporate patrons are favoring local or regional enterprises at 89%.

Patronage is part of a global policy of company’s commitment to his territory, and alongside his territory. Complementary to sponsorship, sustainable development policies, and CSR (corporate social responsibility).

Involved on every front, French TPE (very small businesses) and PME (small to medium sized businesses) are more active than larger companies in the terms of investment/sales ratio. They dedicate departments or outsource the execution of patronage in order to frame these actions in line with their leitmotiv.

A commitment whose development is to be followed according to the new Finance Act put in place in January 2019.
