The nominees for the 2020 Marcel Duchamp Prize are…

This week ADIAF – Association for the international diffusion of art –  has announced the four nominated artist for the 2020 Marcel Duchamp Prize: Alice ANDERSON, Hicham BERRADA, Kapwani KIWANGA and Enrique RAMIREZ.

Just to refresh your memory, in 2017 Estelle Francès supported the artwork of Alice Anderson within the GAAC (Group of contemporary artwork acquisition of the national museum of modern art) Community which assists the decisions of Centre Pompidou to nourish and enrich the permanent collections of the museum. Alice Anderson is Franco-British. She works with corpuses that can constitute the object and also the subject of her studies, all the while getting closer to sculpture. In particular, she uses copper to represent connectivity in the digital world. Above all performative, her practice is intended to be ritual. This creative process results in pastel drawings or wire and sculptures in weathering steel.

As part of the nomination for the 2020 Marcel Duchamp Prize, Alice Anderson and her peers will be exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in September 2020. The winner will be announced on October 19, 2020.
